THE IDEA WAS TO BRING TOGETHER A SMALL GROUP OF OUR READERS FOR A LIGHT BREAKFAST AT A TOP FIVE STAR HOTEL ON THE COAST AND OUR WONDERFUL WRITERS AND DIFFERENT AESTHETIC HEALTH EXPERTS TO ANSWER SOME BASIC QUESTIONS FOR ALL ATTENDING, IN A LIGHT, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY FUN ATMPSPHERE.

Brief: After attending medical schools in Bonn, Paris V, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Munich (TUM) Dr. Kaye received his medical degree from the University of Munich (TUM) in 2001 and subsequently received his University Doctorate Magna cum Laude in 2002 after two years of research in the field of reconstructive plastic surgery at the TUM.
In 2002 he joined a plastic surgery department in Berlin to specialize in plastic surgery, which he left in 2004 to take the opportunity to join the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department at the University of Aachen (RWTH) and to continue his specialization in the field of burn surgery and hand surgery. After completing this syllabus, he joined the team at Marbella Clinic in 2006 for further specialization in the field of aesthetic surgery.
Dr. Kaye is an associate member of the German Society for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (DGPRA) and a registered member of the General Medical Association of Malaga. He has lectured at national and international conventions and has published several articles in the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery.

I have helped organise benefits and attended many more, but I felt it was time for The Beauty Magazine to show strong support for a charity that was here in Spain, to give back to the community we love to live in. We selected a charity that was built on the life savings of the founders, who poured everything they had and more into a foundation with clear goals and sincere needs of making a real difference in children’s lives, right now. While there are endless charities that are all so deserving, there was only one that we could be 100 percent supportive of … Ilusiones Fundacion Privada. They do not have the celebrity patrons with mega corporate sponsorship and they do not have a long history with years of exposure, but they do have unyielding spirits, full hearts and desperate children in need of a wish to give them a little hope of combating the terrible illnesses they are fighting. Coffee, croissants, some girl talk, health notes and beauty tips, superb speakers and great goodies, this was definitely a day to Remember!

We couldn’t be more delighted with the amazing turn out for our second Health and Beauty Forum, the location was ideal, the speakers were spontaneous and the room was packed solid with friendly guests who felt great about the entire event. We went with a different venue this time and chose The Kempinski Hotel, Bahia Estepona. It was well suited as a more central location and our readers were more familiar with the hotel. This turned out to be a very good decision as the staff did an excellent job and the food was fabulous.

The goal was to expand the event and allow more people to attend, but unfortunately it seemed even with the added space, it still was not enough. It looks like the more space we allow the more people want to come! We had already sold out the event two weeks prior to the date and sorry to say had to turn people away at the door, which once again I can’t apologise enough for. So please be sure to book early for the next great event coming up on March 16, 2007.

Our speakers were Dr. Pier Albrecht, Plastic Surgeon, George Henry, Hairstylist, Dr. Gabriella Kortsch, Psychotherapist, Jeni Cook, Nutritionist and the fabulous Debbie Mills, our gracious contributor to The Beauty Magazine representing Mills & Mills Medical Group. It is always surprising to our guest speakers the amount of interest they can generate just by connecting to our readers, which to us at The Beauty Magazine is the most important thing.

Dr. Pier Albrecht wooed the audience by giving a detailed presentation on a new treatment for facial rejuvenation which sparked many of our readers’ interest, including Barbie Weeks from Noni Juice who engaged Dr. Albrecht in a conversation about many of the other procedures Marbella Clinic also had to offer. “This was fantastic, very exciting, what a great audience” said Dr. Albrecht. We couldn’t agree more!

George Henry also captured our guests with his outstanding knowledge of precision hair cuts, which initiated a lot of scribbling on pads to note his salon address and telephone number as it is well known for being very exclusive! “I have to be honest with you, this was amazing, what an incredible event!” said George, “This really was a wonderful surprise.”

The energy level in the room was elevated even further when Dr. Kortsch gave a dynamic talk about the health from within, overwhelming the audience with her upbeat personality. Several topics of discussion were raised about raw health food, about which Jeni Cook was eager to enlighten us, “I was so pleased with the response and for being given the chance to get my message about the benefits of living food to such a wide audience.” Jeni said. However, I think Jeni definitely left us wanting more and so we will be hearing from Jeni in the up coming issues of The Beauty Magazine.

Debbie easily connected with an audience that has come to appreciate her honest approach. Willing to be open to any and all questions even when they are of a personal nature, Debbie has embraced a variety of topics about cosmetic surgery both invasive and non invasive. In particular this event covered injectables, which is now one of the most common forms of aesthetic procedures performed in most cosmetic surgery clinics. Through Debbie’s column in The Beauty Magazine our readers have built a strong relationship feeling confident that she can tackle any question with skill and finesse. This perhaps is one of the reasons why we have all come to trust her judgement and professionalism when relying on her expertise to provide safe and painless injections.
Gaining some free advice and truly being open to all the questions that were put forward was a great reward for all our attendees. But there was much more to captivate our audience as we had a fantastic selection of demonstrations providing everyone with a clear idea of what to expect when having certain treatments, The Genie Complete, Albayt Spa, Studio B and Mills & Mills all gave expert examples of what they had to offer, while other stands were available to browse for information and goodies including, Frostfire Jewellery, Tahitian Noni Juice, Candlelight Expressions and our style guru Renee Coppinger from Stylemakers.

As if that wasn’t enough for one day, The Beauty Magazine came through with the best goodie bag in the business and everyone was excited to get hold of one of the famous Beauty Mag Bags whom our Super Sponsors generously stuffed with fabulous gifts for everyone. The biggest hits were the Luxury Gifts from Bobbi Brown and Estée Lauder which went down a storm, not to mention Bio Natura’s marvellous munchies and Juvena of Switzerlands generous goodies, Stila graciously provided the luxury lip glaze and Mills & Mills Medical left us well manicured.

Overall the event was a massive success once again thanks to our gracious guest speakers and the best audience you could ever wish to have in one room!

Presenting the first ever Beauty Forum was such a great project for us, the opportunity to do something never been done before was a challenge, but also very rewarding. The concept of bringing five different experts, all from different fields of the health and beauty industry, together in one room simply to answer all your questions, was unique to say the least. For the first time people had the choice to ask any question they chose, directly to our panel of experts. To expect clear and concise answers without having to make several appointments or feel intimidated.

Not only was it a new concept for the beauty world, but it also a first for The Beauty Magazine, but more importantly it gave us the chance to really connect with our readers.
What a great turnout! We were all pleasantly surprised with the amount of readers who wanted to attend the event and are happy to report that overall everyone had a great time! Having the BBC filming didn’t worry any of our expert panellists that consisted of, Dr. Dhobb,Vascular Surgeon, Kate Skilton, Dietician, Estelle Mitchell, Physiotherapist, Lori Hillman, Holistic Therapist and Debbie Mills celebrity Nurse Practitioner on behalf of the Beauty Magazine.

The Beauty Forum was held at the Gran Elba Hotel located on the beach, overlooking the Mediterranean, the perfect setting for a social gathering with added benefits! As people entered the forum they weren’t exactly sure what to expect, so it was refreshing to see whispers among the audience on what they thought would happen next. Cindy Barnes, our highly talented Master of Ceremonies opened the forum by introducing each of the panellists. Once the introductions were complete the questions started to flow. Each panellist was given approximately 15 minutes to answer questions from our readers, “What is the difference between a Chiropractor and a Physiotherapist?”, “Can men suffer with varicose veins?”, “Can women still breast feed with implants?” All very interesting questions some of which have been answered in Debbie Mills column. There simply wasn’t enough time to answer everyone’s questions and unfortunately it was time to bring the Beauty Forum to a close and begin the breakfast.
All our experts were fabulous at fielding our readers’ questions and went out of their way to answer more questions even after the forum had finished. Due to the overwhelming response to hold another Beauty Forum, we are already organizing the next event to take place in October 2006, so stay tuned for further news!

Overall rating – Very good to Excellent
The best element of the event had to be the panel. Having a variety of different specialists on hand was very well received. Anyone who had the chance to get questions answered was very impressed by the professional manner in which all our experts handled them. The organization of the event went smoothly, but for one major flaw, food first, questions later! Breakfast was scheduled for after the Forum due to the tight schedules our expert panellists were under. (Don’t worry though, all future events will include at least a drink and a nibble before being seated!) Everybody found the event to be very interesting and informative, which is exactly what we set out to do. Not only did everyone get a chance to communicate with experts on a one to one level, but they also had the option to hand over question cards to the host, Alexandra Collard, (Publishing Editor of The Beauty Magazine), if they felt a little shy. Alexandra however, was fastidious in making sure the audience got the answers they were looking for.

Dr. Dhobb and Debbie Mills were a huge hit and they still had people following them out of the forum eager to keep talking! The other big hit was the Beauty Mag Gift Bags – everyone loved them thanks to our generous sponsors, Bobbi Brown, Estée Lauder, Juvena of Switzerland and Yu-be, not to mention all the wonderful treatments and services that were given to all our readers from all over the Costa del Sol; Albayt Spa, Masha Malka, Mills & Mills Medical, Shanti Som Spa, The Genie Complete, The Detox Clinic and Virgin Vie.
